[Update] So, Newegg wouldn't replace it, but Foxconn says they'll examine it and if they find it to be defective, they'll replace it...which means I'll be without a computer until they decide one way or another. I hope it doesn't take very long, but if it ends this nuisance I'll deal with it. [/update]

That or they hate me. There must be some stupid dynamic going on between us. My computer had this nice graphics card--not too powerful, but it was reliable and it worked okay--which had the gall to
die on me. "But gee," I thought, "aren't I lucky! I have another one in my closet!" (I'd bought it a while back for another reason.) But nooooo. This one likes to randomly crash my computer! And with the other one dead, I'm stuck with this piece of crap until I can afford one that doesn't suck.
Gah.</rant>
If you're wondering, there's some bad solder or something in this card that causes it to badly overheat to the point of crashing the computer. There are four fans inside the tower and everything else is always perfectly cool so there's absolutely no reason for it to overheat except poor craftsmanship. I wish I knew more about hardware so I could try and do something about it myself.
